Profession seeks Graduates.
Podiatry is a recognised and effective method for treatment and rehabilitation that focuses on keeping the body's foundation strong and functioning.
The profession is recognised in New Zealand as a Registered Profession, and enjoys the respect of other health care providers. For more information about the Podiatrists Board in New Zealand see their website.
New Zealand has a shortage of Podiatrists and is actively seeking skilled and enthusiastic graduates to embark on an exciting career in Podiatry within New Zealand.
The excellent remuneration, along with the working conditions makes Podiatry a great career choice.
Jason Mansfield, the General Manager of Asics New Zealand is an example of someone who trained and worked as a Podiatrist in New Zealand going on to manage the leading running shoe brand in New Zealand. “Podiatry as a profession offered me the chance learn in depth about the biomechanics of the lower limb and its effects on injury, the importance of footwear for all people, not just athletes and the role of orthoses on the lower limb.”
After five years Jason began a new pathway working for Asics as a Technical Sales Representative. “This role was challenging and exciting and allowed me to use my Podiatry skills by training retail staff on gait analysis and footwear; and discuss footwear features with Podiatrists.”
Five years on Jason was promoted to General Manger of Asics New Zealand. Even though Jason’s job has changed to a more business-orientated role, his Podiatry skills are used every day.
In addition, his background means Jason travels regularly with an Asics Australasia Team to Sports Medicine, Podiatry, Physiotherapy and International Biomechanics Conferences.
